Julienne Ellen is a composer who gives storytellers a soundtrack.
Using both orchestral and synthetic sounds, she creates scores for a variety of media. She’s written for indie video games, short films, and podcasts, while always prioritizing making music that's emotionally driven, texturally rich, and harmonically unique. She loves collaborating with people who want to tell a story, and she explores all genres through a wondrous lens.
Julienne Ellen grew up watching films by Disney and Studio Ghibli, and she always connected with the soundtracks. As she got older and explored their composers, she became inspired to create music that made others feel the way their music made her feel. She learned how to write for orchestra, how to use a DAW, and how to play piano - and she’s been writing ever since. Her first project was a soundtrack for a peer’s video game in high school, which went on to win a national competition. That first project made Julienne Ellen want to keep finding stories to tell. Since then, she’s created an original podcast intro, composed meditation tracks for a project currently in development, and most recently, collaborated with a team for a game jam, bringing her back to the kind of project that first made her fall in love with scoring.
Based in Nashville while completing her degree at Belmont University, Julienne Ellen continues to expand her portfolio. She is currently seeking collaborations with filmmakers, game developers, and other storytellers looking for emotionally driven, imaginative scores.
